375g in wall build

Nah, they were vents that went into the room behind (soon to be fish utility room). They weren't connected to any ducting, so I took the grates off. I'll cover them with drywall when I get to the finishing stages of this build. The top one will be in the way when I put in the access doors. I don't have to put them in, but for the sake of photography, I need to be able to place remote flashes within line of sight and above the tank for overhead flash.

And I'm betting the filtration could get a bit complicated.

Space shuttle engineers figured it out. Can't be that hard.

Very nice looking tank. Should look great when it's all together.

So today, I took out the entire wall, since I decided that with water and humidity, it would be foolish to not use green board for this application. Besides, I wasn't comfortable retrofitting the existing structure with the header and stuff. Seemed a lot easier to take it all out and build it up.

I expect to get a lot done next week (Thanksgiving weekend) and totally finished by Christmas.

I rerouted the electrical, and put up the 4 corners of the stand and it's level all around :) It's a taller stand because of the in wall application. I'll put some pics up tomorrow, but overall, I'm really happy with how this is going.

I'm anxious to get this finished. I'm going with a flush mount in the wall, and avoiding the frame around the edge. I have a plan to seal the edges of the green board (or concrete board, haven't decided)
