Yes, as long as it is the same height, it will hold the same depth of water no matter how much larger the capacity of the tank is.

hey nolapete, I understand you are using a pond coat, permidi. I am interested in using this for a build of my own, and one for my friend. I was wondering if you had an idea what 1 gal of this will cover at the thickness that they reconmend.

The surface area of my tank is about 300 square feet. 1 gallon will cover 20-30 sq. ft. depending on the thickness. Recommended is 50-60 mil. I think smaller tanks could be adequately covered calculating 30 sq. ft per gallon. Mr. Penner at Permadri recommended 15 gallons for my application.

back 8x2 = 16
sides 4x2 = 8 x 2 = 16
front 8x2 = 16 - dimensions of glass

3 gallons should do it yes. I'd buy 4 and use it all for peace of mind.

I was told that a $25 texture hopper from Harbor Freight will spray Pond Coat if it is warm enough. Also, that if you spray a 10% calcium chloride to 90% water solution over each coat that it will cure much quicker. Calcium chloride can be found at a swimming pool supply. The professional spraying using two hoses; one for the liquid rubber and the other for the calcium chloride solution.
