The chimes place I get food from recently tried to set up a tank. I say tried b.c after the pet store told him to add ph down and then wait a week he did not leave the tank running.
so I told.him to clean it out. And he did. I gave him some cycle start To add. He then tells me he is going to nyc to get the 4. "Dragon fish". I tried to tell him he should wait and that they need.a.much bigger tank.
But in the end he will do what he wants and wont belive me.
I also don't think he will acclimat them right.

How long do you guys think they will live? Or any other advice on my situation.?
Ps did this on my phone so don't hate the grammer

what a disaster!!!! You could house 1 in a 55g till @ 6". Now we know what happens to most of the arowana's!!!

He will be back with the fish Wednesday. So I have not seen them yet. But my guess is 2-3 inches. Once they get bigger I was thinking of trying to rescued one. But I know my 90 gallon would still be too small :( poor fish

wow 1 arowana in a 55 is bad enough, 4 is terrible. They might live for a while, but will be extremely stunted and develop serious medical conditions.

I would just inform he that if he goes ahead with this animal cruelty, that you'll be finding a new place to buy your Chinese food from. All you can do is educate yourself first and then try to pass on the info to him.

Next you'll tell me that a 20% WC once a month is sufficient.

There should be a written exam required to purchase these fish.

I give them 4-6 weeks.

Lol don't worry I wont. My guess if they make it.the first week was 7-8 depending if he changes the water at all
