40 years old this year and frustrated

I'm younger than you, 24, but I found myself in a similar, slightly self loathing situation. I had finished school, moved home and gotten a job. But I was just not happy. despite the income I found myself in a situation where I wasn't sure what I was doing day to day. Why was I working, why was I doing anything. It took about a year but I realized what I wanted I wanted a place of my own. So I went about making plans for how to do what I wanted to do. I'm currently securing a mortgage on what will be my first home. I'm blessed in that my parents are really helping me with credit for this what they are doing is making this easier and speeding things up, but they aren't making it happen, I am and I think that where there is a will there is a way. If you really want a boat you can get one. If you worry your car can't tow it (and unless you buy a flippin 20 foot ski boat it probably can) you can find a solution to this. Make a goal and augment the rest of your life to achieve that goal one piece at a time. Your first boat will probably need work(like a used aquarium) My dad bought his first boat (a old rinker) for a couple hundred dollars with 2 ft of ice in the bottom of it. He hadn't ever worked on a boat prior really and he just figured it out with a little help here and there.

Where there is a will there is a way. Just set your sights and dedicate yourself I'm sure your family would support you in this endeavor, boat or no boat. You just gotta go for it.

Well thats all I got for pep for today.

i feel your pain buddy, im 32, two kids and lifes good really. but my parents aint rich and while me and my missus make decent enough money we dont make enough to save any big amount. its just hard to know that for the forseeable future nothing much is going to change.
But hey like i said, lifes good, when i look at whats been happening in japan and the rest of the world lately, my wee piece of irelands like paradise. :)
hope you get your boat and look foward to the photo's when you do.
