My mistake. I thought you meant the bulkheads at the bottom of the tank, not the towers. Curious to see this, love the idea of self cleaning. Will do lots of researching before I begin going nuts on questions.

Just started reading up on how to determine how much K1 is needed. Really curious to see what you come up with. How large are your overflows and do you really think you can hold enough K1?

Wow that tank almost looks brand new! cant wait to see the final outcome!

Thanks man! Keep us posted on your build too!

Some rough math on this;

Towers are: 16”x7”x23.5” - 11.39 gallons each, that’s 22.78 gallons total.
A 22.78 gallon reactor is 1.52 cubic feet of K1 at 50% volume. One could easily fit 2 cubic feet which is about the same if not a bit more than most people run for a complete system.

I have a lot left over from the last build (around 4 cubic feet in the example sack) so I’ll let you guys know exactly how much was able to fit.

Wow. That’s a ton of k1.

It’s just flow and bio elsewhere that decides how much is mech vs bio. Same setup

Screw it let’s do the tower idea if it helps you plan. I’ve never tried it before so it should be fun. Guess I won’t be plugging those bulkheads after all
Really wanna see this. Pushing the envelope!

I’m not really pushing any envelopes more challenging myself and planning. My son and I do this together and try to pride in our work.

Check out our latest build. Around 1,100 total gallon volume on a maximized wall.

This blows me away.....wow!

That plumbing and airline set up is super clean. How many total gallons are you running? Do you have solar energy? I can’t imagine having a fish room like that. That’s officially the nicest fishroom I’ve seen. Wow!

Thanks. The room is always changing. I’ll get specs and all that up when I’m done.
