48x48 Workhorse "The Rig"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yall are caught up to the progress now.

Now I need to finalize the filtration plan. I want this tank capable of handling a large bioload. Thinking one Ultima 1000 with the Reeflo pump (2k GPH) and one of the sumps for K1. Not really sure to be honest. We’ll decide as we go.

I did dig out some Eheim's so that may be an alternative too. One of the Ultima's is for another project so only one is available for this tank.

Looks like you've got a fair amount of light base going on, siblings? Will need to sit down and look at this build on my comp.

I didn’t want to patch the holes in the overflows permanently (never know what we may wanna do down the road) so plugging them instead. Using 1” bulkhead fittings thread x thread, schedule 80 plugs and FIT low profile strainers.

Black on black takes visual focus off of them when the tank is running. The grey is muted behind the black intake screen. That’s why I don’t use schedule 40.

Much cleaner than those crusty bulkhead fittings were.

Love me some vinegar. Night and day difference. The bowl underneath wasn’t visible before

You’re the man Justin. I appreciate all the help and this posting. You can literally write a book just by taking each of your threads and making it its own chapter. From plant filtration, to plumbing, to backgrounds.m, to breeding Rays.
