Hey guys, I have a Fluval 406 Canister filter and a 50 gallon (long) and I was wondering what you guys think of my set up.
1xFiremouth
1x Golden Severum
1X Red Line Torpedo Barb
1x Crayfish
1x Jewel Cichlid
Regarding the Firemouth, it was nearly dead in the pet store I found him in and I couldn't let him die so I brought him home about 2 months ago and he's now fully healed and his personality is starting to show. However his coloration is very poor, meaning his red is washed out and he's almost completely gray minus the irridecant specs and lines. Is there something I can do to improve his color? I was thinking about returning the Jewel cichlid or Barb and getting another firemouth, but im not too sure if ill have enough room for them when fully grown, or if they will accept eachother. I've had a trio of firemouths before, but one of them bullied the other two to near death and i had to return them.
I feed my fish a diet of Staple cichlid food, flakes, veggie pellets, and the crayfish gets the leftovers and bottom feeder wafers. I also treat occasionally with brine shrimp, blood worm, and de husked blanched peas.
