500 Gallon Peacock Bass Aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Are we racing to setup our identical tanks? I think its so crazy that we have the same tank when this tank is a fairly strange size, and that we are both setting it up around the same time. I am also delayed by my daughter but not because she is a new born but that she makes me broke she just turned 1.

You should hinge the sides of the stand skin so they can fold closed against the main face for space saving. Whats your filtration plan?

Good idea, I'll give it some thought.

For filtration I have 3 FX5's and a UV filter that I'll be using.

Didn't make it as far as I would have liked to polishing this weekend, but I ran into a lot of problems with the buffing bonnets and ended up doing it by hand.

I have no idea why the replacement bonnets for the buffer I own would be so big that it binds up in the motor and shreds the bonnet...

Anyway, some progress is being made. Need to go back and fix some specific scratches, but I'll finish the whole tank first.

wow, I remember when you first set this tank up :) It still looks great and will look even better after it's buffed out. I can't believe your doing it by hand :(

Yeah...well I guess doing it by hand is my punishment for putting the scratches in it trying to catch those little African cichlids!

I'll get more personal satisfaction knowing I did the job myself without tools right? :D

Very true, if I didn't want to change the stand I could have just grown out the pbass and let me have an all you can eat buffet for a while!

I was able to finish the first pass on the front panel and one side panel with the heavy scratch removing Novus polish. I'll finish the last side panel tomorrow then on to spot scratch removal, but its looking shiny!
