500 Gallon Peacock Bass Aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This project has been delayed because of setting up the baby's room, weddings, and business meetings. Finally, I plan to polish the entire aquarium this weekend. My test area from a couple of weeks ago turned out nice, just takes a lot of Novus 2 to remove the swirl marks of the sander...

Finished 1000 grit in about 1.5 hours. 1500 & 2000 to go before a lot of polishing.

Also, anyone know of any online vendors that have PBass at the moment? I saw one on Aquabid (ocell) and then LFD (mono), any others?

I have some monos that I am raising from my pair that I would love to see in your monster tank. They are about 1.5"-2" right now. The male is the one in my avatar. Not the best picture, but I can send more. PM if you are interested.

Finished sanding for now up to 2000 grit. I'll clean it up tomorrow and fix any missed areas before lots and lots of polishing.

I do understand this isn't the ideal footprint since its not wide enough, but in another year I'll just buy a more ideal size new (4' wide) if I can't find one used. I've been looking for an upgrade for a while, just can't find anything close...

I'm planning to go with ocell's if I can...

It's been a long delay with the birth of my daughter, but now back to working on the tank!

Started polishing and planning to be finished, except for spot sanding where necessary, by the end of the weekend. I've got some help lined up for the woodwork, so maybe in another month I can start cycling again!

i was wondering if the frame of your tank stand was steel, if so i would highly reccomend that you just use magnet strips to attach the skin (doors....etc) so for mainteneace u can just take everything off

It is metal, and I did the magnet strips before, didn't work out too well for the doors even through they were light. Instead, I am going to make a u-shape wood enclosure to wrap around the stand, but can be slid out if necessary.
