530g Tank Setup and Plumbing Help :)

Well my fear is coming true. Have a rapid leak with my one bulkhead for an intake. Horrible location and I can’t really tighten more. Any advice? Do you just try and tighten more? I’m afraid to over tighten.

Well I managed to tighten the bulkhead which slowed down the leak. There continues to be a slow drip though. Not sure if I should consider it a pinhole leak. About a drop every 7-10 seconds.

Looking at it closely it looks like there are two potential places there is a pinhole leak. Looks like some water is coming through threads and the other is from around the bulkhead.

No idea if I should continue filling or drain. There isn’t much water which is why I’m hesitant.

Really managed to do a number on this bulkhead. Really is such little room to work with under the tank and I wish I had given more room for the bulkheads.

JK47 JK47 any tricks to running the ultima? I need to read through the directions. Here is my plan:

1) close all valves and fill the tank up to the 1/2in drip drain.
2) once I’ve confirmed there are no tank leaks/bulkhead leaks I will open the valves for returns and intakes
3) by doing step 2 I am assuming this will prime the reeflo? This way I can fire it up?

Btw, do you drill holes into your returns?

Same sequence I do too. Fill er up, leak test, open union ball valves, plug in pump if no leaks on the Ultima or plumbing.

No tricks. Make sure it’s set to “filter” before turning on the pump. That’s about it after a it’s full of water.

You should stop filling at each leak and address. Can you point a screw driver towards the nut (outer corners) and gently hammer it a bit more closed? It’s already scratched up so not really anything to lose.

Will try that. Heading to the store to get a backup bulkhead in case I need to replace.

Tried it but have a horrible angle. I’ll need to take the plumbing apart if I want to do it properly. I actually think it stopped dripping. Will give it an hour and see. If it is still dripping I’ll try harder with your suggestion.

I never seem to tighten enough by hand. What are using to tighten? Will a groove lock vice grip fit to give a slight turn - that's what I use.

You may have had residual leaking and may have fixed with the last tightening.
