Its just the disposition of the fish that i dont like. I like, actually love all predatory fish but not in this tank. I love my red aro and my clown knife, but this is going to be a semi aggressive tank or a peaceful fish tank. If all else fails im going to use it as a big feeder tank and dump or sell my 20g.

I was in the same situation as you are in now, I couldnt find a fish that I liked that wont get huge and be a tankbuster or is aggressive and cant be kept in a community. As you know tanks in hawaii are very exspensive and pet stores dont usually bring anything bigger than a 180, so most fish like aro's,knifes,pbass and other monster wont be a good choice. You would either have to make a pond,tank or order a tank off the internet and thats close to a grand on shipping( I think).
A single Flowerhorn fish will be OK in a 55.
That is just all you could put in it.
Thats what I would do.
Buy a small one, and watch it grow over the next 2 years.
They are very owner responsive and fun to watch develop.
I currently have 19 of them.
