just get a carpintis instead of a cyanoguttatus (true texas cichlid) in stores the carpintis is often referred to as blue texas or something like that, they only get like 10in and the females about 8in it would be a much better fit

there is only 1 pet store that sells the texas cichlid in my area, and the tag just read "Texas Cichlid" so i do not know if it was a green or a blue texas cichlid

carpintis = Blue texas cichlid

both of them are very similar and closely related, the blue texas has larger more blue spots, whereas the regular texas has white coloured (or goldy) small spots that are many in number.
as you can see its really easy to tell if you know what youre looking for, any ideas which was the one you saw?

i can't remember very well, but i remember it sort of resembled a true texas cichlid (Cyanoguttatus) but i still am not sure, can you post pictures of green texas cichlid cause google is sort of inaccurate, and i now know it was not a blue texas cichlid

"blue" and "green" texas cichlid common names both refer to carpintis

a cyano gets too large for a 55g, you could maybe do a female cyano but a female gets as large as a male carpinte, you def could NOT do a male cyano in a 55g since they get as long as a 55g is wide
