55 Gallon tank, Tiger Oscar or Texas Cichlid?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
jack dempseys get up to 10 inches big, 2 or 3 inches less than a texas, and convicts breed like crazy, yes i know that female convicts have orange bellies, but i am not interested in those breeds, i'll search for a 75 but if i can't find a cheap 75 gallon aquarium kit (about $250) then i'll get a 55 gallon, a true male texas cichlid, and a couple of senegal bichirs and hope for the best

lol texas do not get 7" research your fish I have seen a lot of 9"+ texas.... anyways you can always do a salvini tank they have great color and stay smaller

why ask a question if you could care less for the advice given? heres what you should do is barely change the water then the texas will have a stunted growth and not grow as big. thats what i always do if i have a tank thats too small for my fish.
then i'll search for a 75 gallon

Then why ask other members for advice if you already have your mind set on doing things your way? You've been told by several members that a 55 is inadequate for the fish that you are interested in, yet you are still planning to do it anyway. If you can't get a 75 or larger tank, don't get fish that requires one. But do as you see fit.
