Hello, I might be getting a 55 gallon tank, and i am wondering if these fish are compatible and which of these combinations is the best

#1

1 Tiger Oscar Cichlid
2 Senegal Bichir

#2

1 Tiger Oscar Cichlid
1 Spotted Sailfin Pleco

#3

1 Texas Cichlid
2 Senegal Bichir

#4

1 Texas Cichlid
1 Spotted Sailfin Pleco

by the way, i'm sorry that i mentioned Texas cichlid because this is the central and south american cichlid forums and there is no north american cichlid forum

additional questions:
will a red tail tinfoil barb fit in a 55 gallon tank with a Oscar or a Texas cichlid?
is a red tail tinfoil barb compatible with a Oscar or a Texas Cichlid in a 55 gallon?
does a Oscar need a bio filter?
does a Texas Cichlid need a bio filter?
Is a Texas Cichlid easier to take care of than an Oscar?
Is a Texas Cichlid a lot less likely to get a disease than an oscar?

Thank you very much!

i really wouldnt let a fish get over 8inches in a 55, thats just me though. I already have a tank ready for when my gt gets around 5-6

Should i go with idea #3 then? because i researched senegal bichir and texas cichlid and they are both an aggressive species and texas cichlid doesn't get HITH, it also sounds like i should have some big caves for the bichir

almost any fish with get HITH if kept in bad conditions, both oscars and carpintis are very hardy fish as are senegals, you could do a female carpintis with a senegal bichir, you could try a male but thats going to be a tighter squeeze and with this type of fish the females are just as pretty. definitely NO oscar in a 55g, they need at least a 75g as they get entirely too large

this site said there are no diseases specific to texas cichlid, and i wouldn't raise a cichlid in bad conditions, but it sounds like to me that texas cichlid are hardier than Oscars and texas don't get too large and texas get to a foot long, i think i'll get a male texas cichlid and a couple of senegal Bichirs cause they seem easier to raise

i know the site says 75 gallons for texas cichlid but my parents wouldn't let me get a 75 gallon tank and 55 is the biggest tank they will let me have
