55 predator tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^ Agreed. My dad used to have a common in his 55g when I was younger... He had it for years, and it was one of the - if not the last fish to die off. It was easily 12"... EASILY.

I always thought it needed a bigger tank...

ive been thinking and this is what ive come up with
x1 tiger oscar
x1 common plec
x1needlenosed gar
x1black ghost knife
x2pictus catfish

keep in mind that the oscar would go into a bigger tank once he reaches about 8 inches but the oscars i saw at the lfs was only 3 in and the needle nosed gar was about 8 inches already... would they be fine together or would the gar kill it? thanks for the help SpJc11
the oscar will stress out the needlenose.. not the other way around

Hmm this is what I would stock..

4 x African Butterfly Fish
2 x Polyptreus Seneglaus
4 x Leaopard Cnetopoma
4 x South American Leaffish
1 x Banjo Catfish

Im sure if you were careful with stocking levels a chaca chaca cat might ok..VERY predatory and is almost as greedy as a gulper :O
