I'm coming up on being able to stock my 55 and I'm stuck between a bad ass fish or a lot of community fish. My original idea was:
• 1 gold gourami
• 3 rose line sharks
• 1 hoplo catfish
• 1 pleco
• 1 batia loach
• 1 rainbow shark
And possibly a few other species such as a cray fish or African butterfly

Or I could go with 1 wolf fish, my issue with a wolf fish is 1. I like my hands and 2. How expensive is it to feed? I wouldn't wanna feed him feeders due to parasites so what else could I feed it?

I'm new to fish keeping and this will be my first acual tank so I'm trying to do something unique and fairly simple to maintain.

55 will be running on 60 gal sponge filter and a eheim 2215 canister rated for 90 gal.
I plan on doing around 30% water changes every week or more if needed.

The only choice for a wolf would be a red wolf if ur not planning to upgrade the tank size.

I feed my fish massivore, tilapi, silver sides, earthworms, etc. I feed about 2-3 times per week. So it's not too expensive. Plus o buy in bulk and it'll be many months before I run out.

Do you have a picture of yours? I see them mentioned often enough but I rarely see pictures of them.

I was also thinking about a gulper catfish, it's a little pricey to get but would it be about the same cost/ maintenance as a red wolf fish?

They need soft acidic water if I remember right. But can keep one in a 55g without too much fussy. But no tankmates except their own kind.

Polypterus, bush fish, Tertas( right size), barbs, cudas, false gars, butterfly fish, and ropes come to mind.

Will need a bigge tank than 55g if getting a red wolf and other tankmates. Keep in mind.
