Congratz you know some big words IMO if you don't even know what type of fish your selling you don't deserve what its worth... adleast do the research and find out what fish it is... seriously no one would ever scam or do anything to vendors on this site, if someone doesn't know what the fish is and putz it for $60 and they say its a scomb then if you think its something better your should buy it for that price... like I suggested... everyones entitled to their own opinion. Notice how you never denied that you would go into a store selling a black as a silver arow and buy it.... its not stealing or scamming its finding a good deal... like when you go on craigslist and find a 125g tank for like $75 your not going to be like dude that tanks worth more bump the price up to $150 and ill buy it... no you would buy it at 75$ and not tell them anything... I also love how you blew a small comment out of context...

Please note, I was criticizing your willingness to intentionally lie to someone in order to put on a smoke show and lower the price, not an outside scenario of finding a 'good deal' at a LFS or craigslist. Please stay within the relevance of discussion if you wish to engage further.

A mistakenly ID'd fish would typically start at the supplier level - a rational LFS/private seller would not purchase a fish at a Black Arowana price and decide to label it and sell it as a Silver Arowana. Even if a consumer was to take advantage of this situation, the only "loss" is at the ecosystem of where the animal came from. Having said that, I personally believe you should act appropriately when you are mistakenly undercharged, especially to those who make a living out of it. You may notice that people may actually respect you, instead of seeing you as a weasel who sold out his/hers character attributes for a few dollars.

A dozen of long-stem roses will be sent to user:karaig19 at my personal expense where he (or she) is currently recovering from a surgical procedure of stomped feet and a big caveman pout.

Oh lord. Well, in an effort to draw the fire, I should let you know that I picked up the scomb tonight. He's in decent shape, looks a little skinny though.

Turns out the guy I bought him from was a former MFKer that I used to interact on the forum with quite a bit. Nice guy.

Anyways, here's a pic. He's looking ok in the 120 for now, though I'm looking to pick up another power head soon.

So he turned out to be a former member, aren't you glad that you didn't listen to the suggestion of lying your way through discount prices? :D

I should apologize for the derail, however I believe that the discussion of ethics in our hobby on the topic of a potential purchase was relevant and important enough in the age where unknown internet entities care little as to how they conduct themselves as along as they are somehow better off at the end of the transaction.

This is however, is about your new fish. Hope it does well for you.

Dude speak like a normal person... like I said go back to snakes, you don't know me in real life so you don't know who I am... some people on here do why don't you ask them about me and quit making guesses about who I am. you do your thing and ill do mine fact of the matter is all you do is critisize other people.. you may be rich and in canada were economic troubles are not as bad as the u.s. but seriously it was just a suggestion and no one got scammed so take your chillpill and stay with your reptiles... you litterally took a comment that had nothing to do with you and was a simple suggestion and twisted it into your own imaginary senario... and it is the exact same thing as going on craigslist and buy a good tank listed for cheap... close your dictionary and go back to reptiles....

Nice fish! any ideas or possible things your going to try to counter the "sudden death theory"?

Sweet baby Jesus on a tractor, you two are dead set on this. :nilly:

Listen, I think Karaig was just looking out for me. Maybe his suggestion wasn't worded in the best manner initially, but he just wanted me to get a good deal on a fish. And younggalaxy, I agree with you regarding the moral issues and ethics, not just among fishkeepers, but in life in general.

While watching you two interact has been somewhat of a guilty pleasure over the past couple days, I'm wondering if it wouldn't just be better if the mods closed this thread before feelings get any more hurt.

I agree with everything you just said. I am done but I do not think mods should close as this is your thread and some people want to see your updates on this fish like me lol. So putting all of that behind us, Have you heard about sudden death theory?
