Are you talking about welding a frame around it using angle iron? If this is what your talking about I wouldn't weld it while it's on the tank, I wouldn't think that'd be too good. If your wanting to build a frame out of stainless for it I would make the bottom and sides of the frame and set the tank into that and figure out how your going to connect the top.

I don't have a plan drawn out to post on here yet, but what I want to do is essencially make individual frames for the pieces of glass that would interlock.

The glass would fit into a j-channel....

what would prevent the leaks is if u took pieces of glass about 4-%" wide and on the inside of the tank ( over the seams) laid done a piece of glass with silicone filling the underbelly of the new glass and the existing seam.... that would allow for a razor to be used to take it apart if need be... and it would allow for strength of the seems cause the highest pressure is at the bottom of the tank... on your existing model it put pressure directly on the seam, not it will be hitting the glass first which will displace weight on the rest of the glass diverting it away form the seam, which happens to be your weak point

Did that. Still have to take it apart and start over.

you did that with the glass clean?.. really?... the only thing i could think to do besides that would be the same thing but instead of glass use 12"by12" tiles

Yeah....look back at the pictures. There are peices of four inch glass on those seams. Doesn't really matter....I can't pin point the leak. I'm sure it is coming from those seams, but I'm not sure. The only way to get at them is to take down one of the side panels...and if I go that far, I may as well take the whole thing down and start over. Putting up really isn't all that difficult....taking it apart is.

yeah... it will be a beautifuil tank though... so its work the time... i wouldnt even kno what i'd stock ti with haha... i'd have too much fun with that tank

Use red food coloring to test the seams. If it is a healthy leak, put a drop near a seam that you suspect. It will travel to the leak and then suck into the seam. If it is a really slow leak, dump the whole bottle in and then drain the tank after about 30 minutes or so. Then look for where the dye sucked into the seam.
