600 gallon fiberglass tank with window

Congrats on the new tank, it will certainly bring you countless hours of enjoyment.

You mentioned that you are going to add 7 peacock bass to the tank. I am not trying to persuade you against that as I love peacock bass and currently have close to 20 of them made up of all the different varieties you can get. Just want you to know that once the bass are mature it will be next to impossible to feed your rays without either feeding them in the dark or using PVC to pour the food down to the Rays. Again, not trying to talk you out of it cause they are amazing fish but they get huge and have even bigger appetites and I see tons of people buying them when they are a couple inches long not knowing what they are getting themselves into.

Gorgeous Tank!!! Do you think it's easier to feed the rays with bass in the tank if you only have 2 or 3?

plywood of that size with the amount of pond armour its like 1300. its like 1600 shipped i believe. its definitely worth it. just wished it wasnt blue. but definitely thinking of getting one myself when i start clearing my debt xD. How did you get it through the door to your basement? the tank itself is 30 inches... most standard doors are 29 inches (with the door off the hinges).... this is what is stopping me from getting one lol.

It is about 30 1/4 tall.....I took the hinges off and got it thru the doorway which ended up being 31 inches lol

I feed my tank as varied a diet as possible, multiple types of pellets, shrimp, tilapia, smelt, salmon, shiners, etc. I think it would be a ton easier if you only had 2-3 bass as the amount they eat is amazing. There is no doubt in my mind that I could pour a 2.2 pound bag of massiviore in and they would finish it in right away. I will feed large 8-10" sardines and you can't even tell that the bass have just eaten. This is one of the reasons why I love cichla but it does make feeding the Rays tough. What I do is I will feed the bass their pellets and while they are distracted I will throw in small sinking pellets, either hikari carnivore, excel or gold (I think that's what the third pellet is). They have to be the, smaller pellets, no bigger than carnivore cause the bass seem to ignore the smaller stuff when they are distracted with the larger floating pellets. If I want to feed the Rays frozen foods I now just do it when the lights are off so the bass are inactive. If I use tongs to try to feed them when the lights are on I can get maybe 1 out of 3 pieces to the Rays due to the bass grabbing it before it gets to the bottom. I will also use a length of 3" PVC to put down to the bottom and let the food sink down that. The Rays have learned that this means food and will attack the pipe. Problem is now as the food gets closer to the bottom the Rays smell it and start getting more excited and now a couple of the bass have learned this and now when they see the rays starting to go nuts, they bass swoop in and hit the pipe causing the food to become loose in the water where they can easily grab it.
