Wow your knife looks so tiny in the monster tank. I have never seen a gold before. Are they hard to find? The tank looks amazing. You two did a wonderful job pulling it together. I have to ask, how are ya'll planning on cleaning it. A larger step stool with about half of you getting in the tank, or are you going to get all the way in lol??

Oops... Missed your question. I've seen a couple over the years, but they are no way near as common as the silvers.

And as for the Trojans... Yes, the team isn't near as strong as it was in the past several years. There's always fluctuation in any team. If this means some of the pain in the butt bandwagoners go away, I see a definite up side to these loses.

Great thread!Read it start to finish today.Good luck with the rest of the fish moving. And post a pic of your landlords face when he comes to get his car.ROFL!!

Joey kept the filtration running for us until the last minute and we've been keeping it going as well. Also, I threw in mature bioballs from another tank. Then I've been adding used aquarium water that has some ammonia in it from the overcrowded 180 (one of the many reasons for the upgrade). It should have kept some of its biofiltration capacity alive and, with the rate bacteria grow, it should bump up quickly.

Thanks. I know all to well the constant "one more big(ger) tank" syndrome. Eric and I are already throwing around the very beginnings of ideas for the next upgrade for these giants to be. We hope this tank will hold them for another 2 years, but we'll see.

Yeah... I hope he never sees this. I just am not interested in seeing that expression. As much as I'd like to see him cringe, I really don't want him to tell us he's gonna sell the place and make us leave. I just got this thing up and running!

looks awesome... are your ID's going in?

It's currently one ID, and yes. He's gonna be going in, but he'll probably be close to the last one to go in since he's still somewhat comfortable in the 180. I'm guess probably another 2-4 weeks depending on how the water parameters do.

Coming along very nicely...KUDOS...

As far as the car under the cover,
I'd be all,
"Car?!
What Car?,
Was that a car under that cover?!"
He was in so big of a hurry to move it out of your way, It must need to be there for a while...;) :D

Thats really stunning. My dream tank!! What are the dimentions?
I love the video of putting him in, theres nothing like seeing a big fish go into a new HUGE tank. :D

Very nice You've got some big shoes to fill owning that tank and you're on the right track to stocking it right. I'll be watching this for some good updates.
