Their size and power are impressive, their personalities are fantastic, their bizarre looks keep you starring and wondering, and feeding them is so much fun. These guys are true pets you interact with, not just something pretty to stare at. The tank explodes with action when they've realized I've walked in. They pile towards the front of the tank where I'm standing begging to be fed at times and, at others, just watching whats going on feeling the glass with those whiskers trying to gather information about the world beyond the glass. I have a huge array of fish in other tanks that I enjoy for all different reasons, but I especially love my big, ugly (but cute), friendly, beasty garbage disposals.

I put my hand in and he swims through my fingers. I don't think it's just about food, however, I'm not telling the general public either!
Quick question: I noticed you have a Niger cat (Oxydoras niger) My personal fav! Does he have a personality? How is he on other tank mates? I just wanted to know about the general disposition.........?
just drill a small hole on the return line, just under the water level. as soon as the water level drops below the hole, it will break the siphonWet Whiskers;3643872;3643872 said:Just did a 150 gallon water change on the 600. With the 100 gallon sump and filters, I the system is closer to 680 gallons of water depending on how full the sump is. I don't feel like I made a dent in the thing. I'm going to need to get this refugium going.
While doing this, I realized we did something stupid. We put in the temporary diffuser on the return, but it is lower than we wanted it because we were having a problems finding the correct parts. I just thought it was ugly, but now I realize that it is lower than the overflows and is siphoning water into the sump. I would have to keep the sump really low for it not to overflow if the power goes out. Looks like we will need to take care of this soon.
