600g substrate ideas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey I got an idea but haven't tried it yet.
We can make a coloured concrete mix and pour it in the tank , while making slopes to lead all gunk towards the filter intake.

When cement is stil drying add a top later of chips/ gravel so that they stick tothe surface
.

You can have a channel to put plants in.

This would help keep gunk down while eliminating anerobic pitfall of tiles.
Look seamless like gravel.
No digging.
provide more surface area compared to gravel.
Kind of mixes both the ideas of tiles fims and gravel.

Mike. Look how small his fish are. Of course they can't kick up PFS. I had PFS with 14-16" cichla and they kicked it up. And got into my filters. Go with tile

100% agree with Walker. My cichla and tig kick that pfs up all day. Always find some in my fx5s when i clean them out. Also my tank has 2 spray bars that are powered by a mag18 each. They were creating enough current to push the sand towards the back of the tank leaving bare areas towards the front and sand dunes towards the back. I have since removed 95% of the pfs and am currently deciding what color tile I should get.
