Ummm.......quality rods don't break, especially at the grip area! In fact MANY graphite rods come with a warranty that states that if you break it they will replace it!

What do batteries have to do with it? That was an April fools joke, and you fell for it!

That was a cheap rod! Cheap rods break right where his broke. I guess you haven't seen people fish for huge tuna using the rail just like he did using a QUALITY rod and it doesn't break!

There are rods made for all kinds of applications. The one he broke was made for rail fishing.

Per the video, it looks as though it wasn't made very well! :D

Watch the video. he wasn't rail fishing. He placed a heavily loaded rod against an angled surface. Kapow. I've had clients bust up several of my lamiglass rods at 300 a pop the same way. knowdafish you seem to be an armchair fisherman. Go back to your youtube research. I'll just keep fishing.

You wish! I've been all over Mexico, Alaska, central and southern CA., and the Central and South Pacific fishing and I've NEVER broken a quality rod rail fishing or otherwise. I do know what I'm talking about! :raspberry

And Lamiglass :screwy: rods aren't even close to what I would consider a quality rod!

So you've gotten your line wet once or twice. Try doing it with 6 clients on your boat for about 100 days a year for about 15 years. You'll break some rods. Good luck and good by weekend warrior.

Only 15 years? Rookie! :D  You sure must furnish some "quality" equipment for your clients if they break rods! :D

i didnt miss the post read every thing and watched vids im jus sayen that it does can and will hapen i dont care if it is a 10 dollar walmart cheapy or a million dollar rod it can be broken if used in properly wich is what was done in the vid the way he was fishing was the way he shuld have stayed instead of placing a fully loaded rod on a rail he shuld have just held it sorry if i was mis under stood. iv fished off a rail befor but never went from fighting a fish standing and then to a rail with out some thing giving usualy the line remember ya got to have your drag set apropriatly for verrying conditions fe current weght of line test and of fish ya dont and snap goes some thing
