75 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah, variety is best tho, also use crickets, algae wafer, un cooked shrimp, tilipia fillet and boiled shelled peas!-)

To be honest mate just keep what you want in your 75, the o will grow faster so i would advise gettting them both at around 5-6 inch so the jd doesnt become a risk, have a divider at hand and its worth a shot imo if you are willing to keep up with the maintenance. at the end of the day, the fish could and most will probably end up in a much worse place than an mfk members 75g.

i often find myself saying what i know is right considering fish's max sizes ect, you will know what is right and if it starts looking tight im sure you would upgrade if need be, get the birchir aswell if you plan to upgrade in a few years!-)

Okay thanks! I really want an Oscar so I have no choice to keep 1 in my tank. I have a last question how can you tell its gender?

Simple answer you cant, unless it lays eggs one day, m and f exactly the same. Dont think you can even vent them.

Do you know what type of o your gonna get.

Do you have other tanks ? If it dodnt work out with the o and bichir maybe you could move one. I dont thinknyoy would have aggression issues between the two my cichlids dont bother the bichirs but water quality would be my concern

I think if your ontop of wc's the o and bichir could work. With just the one tank it shouldnt be hard to do 2 wcs a week

Can I feed an Oscar using NLS pellet food?
Sure can!!! Just stuff em in a goldfish first!!!:p
An oscar will eat anything You can fit in a goldfish... but yes; in this case per your question, no goldfish required, though the O may not take to it immediately.
