The white styro-foam that is used as insulate or make box... Get 1/2" or thicker.. Home Depot sell them in 4'x8' sheetxxblwn408;1422693;1422693 said:

A half inch in a tank that size is really no big deal. If you think it will really bother you, then adding the molding will do the trick. Just don't add it between the tank and the stand. In the manufactures warranty, there will probably be an exclusion for home made stands. Some manufactures also use a play on words that excludes damage from their own stands.

it is different then other styro,its not the little balls.
it is harder to compress then the white styro.
for a big tank like that i would use the blue.
my 240g compressed the blue just fine so a 750 will too.
and the white,like i said,compresses easier and i wouldnt want that on a big tank.
when you get to lowes or depot squeeze them both and you will se what im saying.
and chomps,
he shouldnt worry about the bottom piece of plywood floating after adding the trim under the stand?
im pretty sure the w/d will be ontop of it and im sure his w/d isnt small.lol
thats what i would worry about after the styro.

After re-reading that, obviously anywere else is not fine. I meant anywhere in relation to the 4x4's since they are load bearing. Anywhere above or below them is fine. If dissassembling the stand looks like an option, ya may as well just trim half an inch off the back legs.
