No foam. Tank is directly on the plywood. Tenecor does not recommend placing their tanks on foam.
:WHOA:
i would have styro under that money pit
i dont see how it would hurt, only help.

my opinion
if it was mine
i would add 1/2" styro and do the 2x4 wedge thing.
jmo

even thow they say no foam i still put mine on foam

its best to be safe than sorry just in case their is a inperfection in the tank base

it will also make it easyer to get level

What type of foam? What does it look like?
The white styro-foam that is used as insulate or make box... Get 1/2" or thicker.. Home Depot sell them in 4'x8' sheet

Gimme gimme I want makes my 9 x 30" x 24 look tiny...

...tank not being level from front to back. It looks to be a 1/2" difference. I was thinking about going to Home Depot and getting a 1/2" molding and find the widest one and place the molding under the bottom plywood where the 4x4's are making contact.

Go? or No go?

A half inch in a tank that size is really no big deal. If you think it will really bother you, then adding the molding will do the trick. Just don't add it between the tank and the stand. Anywhere else is fine. The easy way to do it is to slide it under the stand directly below the 4x4's and then trim the bottom edge with more molding to hide the gap. Don't buy the plastic molding for the shim, it is air injected and will compress under the 4x4's. HD and Lowes has a four inch flat molding for very old style homes. It is mostly flat and only has routing (scroll work) at the top half inch.

For my tank, I added an extra piece of trim to my hood to hide the surface of the water. If you will be adding lights, you might want to consider building a hood for the tank.

Oh, another thing to keep in mind... foam under the tank does not contribute to leveling the tank. There is a misconception here and on other sites that it does. It only serves to protect the tank from point loading.

In the manufactures warranty, there will probably be an exclusion for home made stands. Some manufactures also use a play on words that excludes damage from their own stands. :nilly:

yeh the stuff polyboxes are made from :D

my tank is 1/2 inch out i just made the tank hood sit lower on the tank to cover the water line

i use the 1/2" blue sheets of styrofoam.
it is different then other styro, its not the little balls.
it is harder to compress then the white styro.
for a big tank like that i would use the blue.
my 240g compressed the blue just fine so a 750 will too.
and the white, like i said, compresses easier and i wouldnt want that on a big tank.
when you get to lowes or depot squeeze them both and you will se what im saying. ;)

and chomps,
he shouldnt worry about the bottom piece of plywood floating after adding the trim under the stand?
im pretty sure the w/d will be ontop of it and im sure his w/d isnt small.lol
thats what i would worry about after the styro.

"edit"
"heres the styro im talkin about"

says this in description
"and high compressive strength"
that sounds great for a monster 750g lol

...Anywhere else is fine...

After re-reading that, obviously anywere else is not fine. I meant anywhere in relation to the 4x4's since they are load bearing. Anywhere above or below them is fine. If dissassembling the stand looks like an option, ya may as well just trim half an inch off the back legs.
