I believe Finwin was talking about fake plants which I agree are good if they area soft material like silk.

Yes fake plants. Vines are good because cichlids like dragging them around for fun. You could even try a floating toy ball too...my Oscar loves his basketball and often comes up to play a 'game' when he sees me. He pulls up and tears off chunks of fake plants too. But he was always around plants and loves swimming between them. Floating fake lily pads reduce stress too.

That can work, you may have to experiment to see what he likes. I'd gotten my Oscar a new ball that was bigger than his original and smooth. He popped it a few times but mostly left it alone, so I put his old scrubby basketball back in. That's the one he loves, so it stays. Any baby toy, or cat/dog toy that's plastic with no glue, glitter or wood should work.

Party favor toys are good, too.

I’m gonna try a ping pong ball for daisy since he’s still small but if he likes it then eventually I’ll get something bigger when he gets bigger

Bringing this back for a minute. Thinking of moving my spotted Raphael to a different tank and getting a bichir of some type. Still need to plan and everything but would this pairing be better than with the catfish that I don’t see
Often

The reason the cat is alive is because you never see it. A bichir would likely not last long.

I tried it and it did not work,a few other members have had longterm success though (bichirs with fh) it all comes down to your individual FH's personality so there isn't really a yes/no answer.

Didn't you just create a thread stating that it was active?

I always here how Raphael cats are notorious hiders but in my flowerhorn tank I have a spotted Raphael who has a coupon bits of wood srpund the tank to hide under and I noticed a while ago that with the lights on and flowerhorn swimming around that my spotted Raphael is just cruising around the tank. Is this anything to be worried of or am I making a deal out of nothing.
