Don't move the 55G with more than a two inches of water in it unless you have assistance from at least one other person because it will put too much stress on the tank.

I plan on having my sister or dad help me do it.

You don’t need any old water, just fill it up, dechlorinate the water and have all the filters from the 55g on the 75g and you have an instant cycled tank

you’re putting 80-90lbs of stress on the seals with you (even with help) moving 25% of the water plus gravel in a glass tank.

Cannisters are a pain to clean imo,I would just use a hob/internal filter or just some plain old sponge filters.

Don’t you have to clean then less often though and they provide better filtration

Not really,you would still need to clean/replace your mechanical media regularly .Even if the waste is no longer visible in your tank ,it's still in the system.

I always hear so much good stuff about it and fluval in general and currently just use a tetra or top fin so it’s not the best and I plan on having a canister if I get one on the 75g when I get it

I have this filter on my 75G but I have the 407, not the 307, and I have an aquaclear 110 on there as well. The Fluvals are very solid canister filters.

In my opinion, the 307 would be a bit underfiltered for that size; however, since you only keep 1 fish, maybe it's fine.

I have a FH and a spotted Raphael with some snails. The 307 says up to 70g and the tank isn’t heavily stocked at all so I feel like it would be fine but that’s why I’m asking so I can get some opinions and thank you for the feedback.
