So, today...... It's been along one, but a lot got done. First I cut all the holes in the water butts. Then put the bulkheads in and for the water but with k1 in, I covered the exit holes with plastic mesh
The water butt holding the k1 is the 2nd that the water will enter. The 1st one will have the heaters and a filter sock, there's a 4 inch pipe at the bottom of each water butt, connecting the 2 so the water will go from one to the other.
That silver box is what hold my 40 litre per hour air pump which is a loud Mofo! Because of this it's housed in a plasterboard box with expanding foam inside and care sound deadening stick on material outside which is the silver that you see. This makes a huge difference and the underlay inside the stand will help loads more too, the underlay has a waterproof sheeting on it so vie taken advantage and lined every side and the 'ceiling' of the stand with it too, to help prevent rot of the plywood.
Now one of the painted sides are on along with on of the door frames. Apart from 2 bulkheads to the sump the filtration is plumbed. There are red accents waiting to be made and go on the stand once I've done the glass. Can't wait!!! More progress to come once I get more time....
So now the stand is complete other than the doors and details. I've decided to go for grey chrome now rather than red. The filtration is done other than adding the k1 media and the lava rock. Pics below
Yesterday the glass and plumbing came. So I layed the base sheet down. And finished all the plumbing.
One net pipe goes through the k1 the other is just an over flow so just goes to the sump. Hopefully it will be dry for its life. Not the best pics but here you go...
And then this happened today. Just needs the last 3 top braces put in now which will happen after dinner so the euro bracing has time to hold its own weight a bit.
