I'm with Cit on this one.. More tanks doesn't mean more knowledge.. it just means you take your work home with you. I'm down to 7 tanks atm.. and work in a LFS. I get asked a question at least weekly about something I don't know. And often ask MFK for help with my own personal collection. And reccomend people to this site as well. I'm also constantly on this site researching info for stock we have in the store that I may only know a little about. A good LFS employee will turn away a sale, if they know it's not in the best interest of the fish. A bad one will tell you whatever you want to hear. And Sometimes people just have bad info.

It is your tank, and your decision as stated.

i will do what i want. And chis from fantastic fins say i could. :D
I hope you are joking... never take an lfs employee's word for it, I don't care if they are a marine biologist with a phd, the goal of an lfs is to make money, not to help people and make sure they are taking good care of their pets, they will tell you anything to get you to buy their fish, supplies, etc. MFKers, on the other hand do not get paid for their advise, and we will not give you false information just for the fun of it, so it would make a lot more sense to take our word for it than theirs...

Do what you want, but just be aware that most other fishkeepers don't have access to the immense collection of fishkeeping knowledge from many thousands of experienced fishkeepers, including quite a few who have college education in fish-related subjects, that we have here on MFK. I kept fish for about 10-11 years before I became a member of this site, and back then, I still believed in the "one-inch per gallon" rule, as well as the "fish grow to the size of the tank" rule, and I basically knew next to nothing about the nitrogen cycle, other than knowing that you have to cycle a tank before putting fish in it; but then joined this forum, and I now know more about the hobby than many other people who have multiple times as much experience as I do... so just keep that in mind.
