80 2x4's - 580 Nails - 120 Screws later....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks for all the positive comments, hopefully the liner will be here by Friday. I am lining it tonight with 2" Insulation, hopefully I wont have a huge bill from heating this guy.

The tank will hold 30 Silver aro for just a short time, but in the long term plan on some Leo's, LAcerdae, and my "Almost" "Snow" Aro.

That sure looks like you wasted alot of materiel.

Dont see the waste from my point of view. I used just about every bit of each 2x4, the tank will NEVER have any issues involing the actual structure. Also with the 2x4's haveing an R value of about 4 I end up with the added benifit of not having to use heavy insulation on the sides..... Plus, I like the look. I may skin it anyway, but I can wait for that.

Of course I could have gone cheaper, but I like to build things that will surely last a LONG time.

I agree. Do it once and do it right.

Very nice. Now did I miss something in the read or is it just missing a bottom panel in the pics? If I didn't miss anything what's the bottom panel boing to be?

Bottom panel will be 2" Rigid Insulation. Then underlayment, then liner. Possibly skipping the underlayment if I feel I can tape the lenght of the insulation.
