8'x30"x30" big enough for Monos?

The Best bank...ohh man...I grew up in Gretna all my life lol. I go back all the time and I know Gorge at CC. I was thinking an acrylic would be expensive. Really anyone other than GC. I have had a 135 GC and its ok...good enough for me right now and this size. I mean its going to be like maybe 1200 with overflows and starphire glass on the front if I do that.

I would have a hard time feeding them troute lol...I love fried specs man. Maybe i'll have to find a drum hole and snag up on those big boys....

your better off feeding them freshwater fish IMO

when ya catch so much sometimes they can go a long way between you and your fish. Especially if ya hit the lake for some white trout which doesn't have a limit. And when ya have someone that fishes as much as my dad you just can't eat it all LOL

we were looking at the 500(8x4x2) at glasscages. Ponds are getting ready to hold the fish. hopefully it will be a clean switch over. let me know how the tank is if ya get it.

catch and release.. no need to keep what you dont need ;)

thats why they made freezers to keep fish longer, plus it all gets fed to either humans or fish. my pbass eat the backbone of trout bones and all, they will eat shaved pieces of fish or chunked, love the guts and i have not tried a head yet. 6 crawfish went in the tank 2 where eaten by my bass and one was broken in half by my ornate and i watched it swallow the tail. we get shrimp real cheap so cook the big ones for you and feed the small one to the fish shell and all even the head, but one thing to remember i do two water changes a week to keep the water clean and after a big feeding you have to do a water change plus i only feed about 3 times a week with end of week usually being big grub night where everybody pigs out.:headbang2:popcorn::ROFL::WHOA:

Well it looks like the 30x30 might be too much $...I might drop to the 8'x2x2. I might see about making it 9' and having an overflow on each end making it 8' of water with no overflows taking up space. I would loose the side view but that might be worth the room. I dont know if I would still do the P bass tho. Might just do the reg big guys that stay to 18ish"

you could still do 2 with that tank. people got more than that in a 180.

that tank size is perfect and much larger then most people on this forum.

i have 3 aros, 4 gars, 1 giant gourami, 1 rtc, 1 tsn, 2 oscars, 1 fh, 1 tem, 1 buttikoferi, with plans on adding more fish. i purchase 5lbs of pellets every few months. and i couldn't feed them all of it in a week if i wanted too. they just wont eat that much lol. even if i go buy shrimp, 3 lbs, they wont even eat a full pound in 1 feeding. so i think a lot of peoples suggestions on how much will be consumed is a dumb amount. u don't need to stuff your fish's faces when there big. they only need enough, and you can even skip a day or 2 between feedings when ur fish are big enough. or do what i do and feed pellets daily twice a day, then meaty foods on weekends as treats. feeders once a month.

ur tank size is perfect, and people on the forum will love it. most people can't even provide a 200gal 24" wide, your already aiming for 30" wide and 30" tall which is perfect. and for pbass, im sure you could get away with 6 or more. the tank is a lot bigger then you think it is

I am not going to do 30x30 anymore. I am trying to keep it to a certian price and to go from a 24x30 tall to a 30x30 adds almost 1k.

if no 30x30, reduce your fish choice dramatically. its only 3 inches, but you'd be surprised.

unless u go 30 wide, and 24 high, thats still perfect. aslong as its atleast 8ft long.

my suggestion stands, if the tank remains 30" wide
