Yes I remember where I was...I was in tower 2 on the 99th floor and I went through that whole ordeal from beginning to end. I hope that no one ever would have to go through and see what I have seen on that day. I made it out, but I knew so many family and friends that did not.

I want to share something I wrote...

"Do you remember?" said the Angel to the girl whom looked upon the gates of the pit surrounding Ground Zero. She placed herself in preparation to go down the ramp into the place she had once, eight years ago fled. "I remember the clouds so perfectly painted in a sky of a deep blue, a cool September breeze while the sun still shun warmly. It was a far cry from what the morning would soon bring." Answered the girl.
"Let us place our flowers of remembrance together." Replied the Angel as they began their decent into the pit.

As she gently placed the flowers down she thought of what had since changed in eight years, and what has not. Arriving at Ground Zero you can instantly tell who has arrived out of curiosity, and who has lost loved ones. Your eyes and heart can decipher the ones that indeed feel some connection to this place, and the ones that gravitate towards it, wanting to feel, wanting to share the burden of that very day that changed the world or shall I say, our world forever. She closes her eyes, and even after eight years, this place can still claim tears. The echoes of the voices that were still remain.

"2,571 angels received their wings here…do you remember them?" asked the Angel as the girl stood up from her own private moment of silence.
"How could I forget? Time has the power to heal wounds, but time has also the power to allow those wounds to consume you. But we have the choice between heart and mind to allow those memories to echo within the halls of our hearts. Their song will forever be immortalized in this body. In every breathe I take, in ever beat of my heart, they will reign."

The Angel smiles at her knowingly as he whispers,
"Good, then the 2,571 that have taken flight away from home will never be forgotten…but we cannot allow ourselves to forget the angels that did come home…the ones that are still here without wings…for these wingless angels are a reflection of what we have overcome…in eight years."

Dedicated to all whom were lost…and found on 9-11-01

You know one year at the remembrance ceremony after the inital bell tows and moment of silence me and a group of us recounted the steps we took that day, which included the exodus over the bridge to brooklyn, and we had dinner in Brooklyn before returning over the bridge back to see the tower of lights unfold, and odd thing happened that year...there was these dust like particals all over the lights and it looked like little sprites going up to the sky and I was so amazed and my friend was like what could that be...and the only thing I could think of was...angels...they come here as we do...and then when its over they go home...just like we do! :)

I was also in College... Every year I talk with my students about it. High school kids... This year was sad. This was the first year that my students were too young to really remember the day, or to understand it then. I have asked them all to atleast watch United 93 to give them an idea of the feeling. Years from now they will be asked about this day by the future generations. Like Kennedy or Pearl Harbor. I want to them develop an understanding of the day and make connections to it. Perhaps they will remember more by watching the film. I was proud that none of my students took today lightly. They were really respectful about the day with discussion. I had feared they would complain not this again, but it was nice and a good health discussion.
