His name is Demetrius aka El Duce and from Arts in Motion (LFS from Marion, IN). I got him around January 2010 when he was about 6”. He is now right at 11”. He is full of personality, but has a special hatred for any and all livestock.

So how exactly did you do the background ? Is it inside or outside the tank ?

Not heard of or seen anything like it before.

Its on the outside with scotch tape.
-Rolled out about 5' of foil
-Painted it red/black/silver
-Crumpled it up
-Touch-up Paint
-Loosely tape to back of tank

I think it give a sort of a 3D look without losing the space. I have it on my other tanks as well, but this one provides the best depth impact b/c the others are black.

Looks great. They become part of the family when they're right in the room with ya' I really dig mine...my avatar.

I've never kept a flowerhorn so therefore I know nothing about them, but that is a beautiful fish, great color.
