To a point, but mostly he just lounges around. He swims around a little, but not like he is doing laps or anything. He is much more active when I walk up to the tank since he associates me with food. I know a LFS with a 13" one that lounges around a lot too.

He is much more like my Frontosa than my Malawi tank as far as swimming around goes.
