By more than half actully...HOWEVER be very careful with the FX5 and sand... keep the pick up tube a good 4 or 5 inches above the substrait. The canister is a bottom motor design so any sand that gets past the foam will settle in the motor and most likely burn it out.

Your tank length is great for a silver aro and of course the depth of the water dosn't mater much but even though they are VERY flexable... the 19" width could present a problem...UNLESS.... and I was looking at the picture a bit more closely... the bottom of the tank measures 92" X 24". In that case you have a tank that will be fine for many years.

no you read it right and its only 19 wide but it will be ok for a couple of years???????

i think £80 is about $160 !!! but dont quote me lol

would it be better to use a normal substraight then???? fine gravel?

Sure... Probubly close to two years and even after you upgrade the tank for your Silver thats going to be a great tank for other fish. Go with a minimum of 2' wide and 3' if possible to keep aros for life and at least 8" to 10' lengths...

well thanks for all your input !

Just that they have about a half dozen common names.

http://aqualandpetsplus.com/Catfish, Sun.htm

Name: These chubby little catfishes have more names than a credit card thief. We usually see them for sale in our neighborhood as sun catfish. We know they come from India, but they are also called spotted gold Thai catfish, and Günther’s catfish, and solar catfish, and eclipse catfish, and bullseye catfish, and golden red-tail catfish. But, as Will Shakespeare said back so many years ago, “A catfish by any other name would still smell.” Whoops, I almost forgot, some people call them Horabagrus brachysoma.

Thanks for the info!
thats the same site as i found!!!!
we are gonna go ahead with the tank as is like you said and if they dont get on or were not able to upgrade when it becomes to small then we will give him to the public Aquarium!!!!! Sea World they have fresh water fish too!
we have decided to go with small substraight as the sand is a big risk with FX5 cant afford for that to burn out!!!!!!
