I just read the whole thread, the growth rate was phenomenal!! I'd guess by the size of the fins its going to turn into a big fish, even if the growth has slowed considerably.

That's the fastest growth rate of my bichirs (even my largest congicus can't compete when it's the same size).

I've feeding them with feederfishes for around 10 yrs. I had a quarantine tank to make sure no accident during first few years, since it's pretty OK of the health condition of the feederfishes from the same LFS, then I dump the feederfishes in my fish tanks and bypass the quarantine step. Anyway, it still has risk.

2008/10/09 moved it into the 180gal tank (with those big bichirs), total length ~13", the external gills are almost gone.
