Ive noticed removing one fish can cause an all out battle between the other fish. Saw this for about 20 minutes the other day when i sold a firemouth. It was mainly swimming around each other flaring and what not. Pretty cool but it can get deadly

I find that in freshwater, algea eaters (mostly plecos) tend to be more aggressive than some carnivores. Excluding bala sharks
And some cichlids.
But this is just my opinion

Don't get drunk and think your fish want to eat your' bacon. Nothing bad happened, but not worth the risk lol.

make sure your family knows what to expect from the tank, i set up my 75 next to a tv my brother is glued to in order to play xbox. on 3 occasions i've come down to find the filters unplugged for who knows how long because he found the trickle of water annoying, fortunately a little quarrel and a few layers of gauze layers convinced him to stop his assassination attempts

trade in your brother on a new tank!....BUT on the serious side 1.sponge filters are good to have in a tank emergencies 2. do slighty bigger WCs than you think you need 3.a SICK fish has as good a chance for recovery(before it gets real bad) with clean slightly salinated water AND qt,rather than meds

power outages will happen, make sure you have back up plan, at least to run an air stone till the power comes back on, a car battery plugged into a battery maintainer is a good idea. make sure you also have an inverter so you can use the car batteries power. It happened to me and im convinced it saved all my stock. also a spare generator is much more useful but much more expensive. A UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) will also work but it's basically a fancy battery.

also if you have a sump setup, make sure you have some sort of siphon break in your return pump for when the power goes out or the water in your tank will drain back into your sump via the return untill the water level in your tank is below the return, this can cause your sump to overflow. If not you can just place your return outlet near the surface, that way not too much water will siphon back into the sump.
