A Father Kills His Dog To Get His Son's Finger

Some confusion is going on in here, imho.

I have a son that was bitten, lightly, by a Neapolitan, who just wanted to correct my son.

He was six and woke the dog with a shout in its ear.


Took 90 stitches in the face, my boy.


Never crossed my mind to have that dog killed. It went to a friends house the next day.( and i still miss her )

A completely different thing is to know you have a chance of saving your kids finger, because they can be re- attached if quickly acted upon.

And in this situation i would not hesitate. And i would not hesitate even if the fault was my kids ( would deal with that later ).

To put a persons value on a par with a dogs, even a beloved one, is higly worrisome and demonstrative if how society is nowadays.

Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't it did that for a reason and I a 17 year old know that there was no hope to reattaching that finger I gotta give it to the guy he's got some balls doing that

When I was a Corpsman working in orthopedics in the Navy, I've seen some amazing reattachments of severed fingers, arms, and legs. Don't just assume that a severed appendage is an automatic loss. The most amazing reattachment I saw was an airman on a carrier that lost both legs, below the knees, from a snapped launch cable. After several surgical procedures (including cadaver and lab-cultured bone, venous grafting, and neurosurgery), physical therapy, and other support the airman walked out of the hospital under his own power a year after the accident. Another year later he was still doing fine and came in for some plastic surgery to reduce the wide scarring at the reattachment sites.

I get what your saying Miguel as being a bit victim to the face. I didn't need as many stitches as he did just three on my upper lip and the dog was a chow. Even though it was triggered by me. My dad never killed the dog.

But in that situation I wouldn't have thought twice. Like pet spoiler said the longer the finger was in the dogs stomach the less chance you would have of it being reattached. In the hour or more time it would take to surgically remove the finger could be well digested.

Hello; Go back a few posts and read the responses of darthpike, monsterkeeper, doomiedee and livebearerfreak.

Applarently not everyone would do the same as the father.

Some even put the lives of dogs and other living things on the same level as a human life. That is a disturbing concept.
That some would feel this way is no suprise based on some posts a while back on another thread about dogs. I had stated that I carried protection when walking and riding my bicycle as there was a dog that would act aggressive as I passed by. One member stated they hoped the dog got me as they were apparently upset that I actually made plans to protect myself. This struck me as placing the dogs life above my well being.

Secondly, the finger couldn't be reattached which is quite logical to anyone who has seen a dogs mouth and a digestive tract. And lastly, how sick is it to slit up the belly of a family member?(And a dog should be no less than that)

No one who is not a parent has the least idea, absolutely, what this is about.

I disagree with the fact that humans are put above animals. Every living thing on this plant has a purpose. From the smallest organisms to the biggest. Just cause humans are at the top of the food chain doesn't make any better or different then the animals.

I'm not switching my response from before I do still believe the dad did the Right thing but just disagree that we humans are placed above all other life forms.

I agree with the animal rights people ...BUT an AGGRESSIVE DOG.. cant be reasoned with ..and could kill someone if provoked... this being said the kid might have done something aggressive .. BUT still CANT take A CHANCE ON THE dog hurting someone again... its got to be put down

Hello; How did you determine this? Also there seems to be something telling in that you feel it is, even in a smallest way, acceptable for a "family member" to bite off the finger of another family member.

Actually I agreed with the father cause I would have done the same.


How is comparing any other life form different from human a disturbing concept? Every thing on this planet living or not plays a small part in it. what makes our world so unique. So how are the humans that have taken over and are destroying the planet different? Animals didn't cause global warming or invent things that slowly kill what we need as humans to live?
