A few more cichlid questions

okay then i like this idea more to than the 2 dempseys lets you have more of a variety

Well, jds are slow growers, compared to Oscars,Midas,Dovii, ect.my Jd is around the 6 in half inch mark close to 7,but I have the jd in the 125 gallons,if you keep looking around on craigslist or even petco wants to get rid of their old tanks, which go on clearance usually, you can easily get a 75 gallon with stand for 150 or below.that would be more room for the jds, since the width is 18 inches.I think in my opinion width is more important and at least 5ft or above for length. As for height,I guess it plays a roll too,but most cichlids are bottom and middle fishes

My JD is awesome, he has the most personality in my stock. As for a catfish, my small 3.5" channel cat is out all day and all night scavenging for food. also i would highly recommend getting a pair of small clown loaches, before i got mine there was leftover food floating in the water and it smelled and it was gross, now its spotless. also my pleco doesn't sit around at all, he is also active all day and all night moving around like crazy. It did take him a long time to start swimming like this though, for about a month he was attached to the wall, never hit the floor or decorations once.

I think will be getting the 1 jack 4 silver dollars and still deciding on catfish though

like i said, i highly recommend getting a channel cat, pleco, or clown loaches. especially clown loaches, they're extreme tank maintenance
