A few new pics from the green terror tank.

Oh well mate at least it's only temporary.
Be nice when you do get the 125 set up for them though.
If you can add a few other tank mates in the future, your female will be a lot less inclined to batter your male if you do.
Here are some of the critters that have worked well for me with my rivulatus.

Yea mate the 2 girls were originally a rescue job about 3 months back I wasn't even ready or prepared for them but after seeing how they were coping in a 75gallon with a pair of 7 inch festae, 6 inch pair of gold sevs, 2 three inch green sevs, 6 inch male white fin gt and pair of port acara I had to grab them. This tank also had couple of male peacocks and silver dollars n heaps of Bristlenose too lol was crazy. Figured one of them would be better in the qt tank and the other in with the male in the 50 but it didn't quite pan out like that. Here's a pic of the tank water they came in after I tested it and also the females injuries and terrible condition that resulted from the huge amo levels

Bloody hell those poor fish.Nice to hear these rescue stories though.
Good to see they are bouncing back in your care.
Why would anyone put that many fish and that type of fish together in a 75?
Definitely better off in smaller temporary accommodation, rather than live a life in those conditions.
Well done mate.

Forgot about the 4 inch pair of Cubans and breeding net with 4 red breast acaras floating around in it too. Never seen anything like it. His other pair of festae the same size were in another room in a 2ftx1.5x1.5 lol. Yea the 2 girls are completely different now, much healthier and the smaller one spawned with the male 2 days after introducing them. The big girl was a bit of work to get back to 100% though as you can see from the pics. There were a couple of days where I thought she wasn't gonna make it. The magic of quality foods and frequent clean water changes.

Unfortunately that sort of thing happens all to often. Some people will decide what species they like best and try to cram them all in one tank.No thought for the fish what so ever as long as they have them then it's ok.
In reality less is often more imo.

I feed them quite sparingly twice a day.
I feed frozen prawns, cichlid carnivore sticks algae wafers, koi sticks, tetra prima, frozen bloodworm, dapnia, and mysis shrimp.
with the other tank occupants to consider I drop in peas and broccoli too.

Cool cheers, can't wait til my boys as big as yours lol. My larger female is laying eggs by herself as we speak was wondering why she was overly aggro. She's been pretty timid and shy since I've had her. No doubt caused by what she went thru.

I had a night of spawning last night. My male has spawned with two females, one at each end of the tank and looks torn as to what spawn he should be guarding. To make matters worse he is doing the mating dance with a third female.
Poor guy must be worn out.
