A personable cichlid for my 75 gallon tank.

Midas, midevils, red devils, trimacs, and lyonsi are just a few of the most popular ones.

i thought Red Devils and Midas were the same fish. Then again I have never gotten as much into cichlids as I have in the past month. I don't suppose a hoga could go my tank could it? Although a nice amphilophus of any kind would suit me. If there are any I can have and still keep the shark feel free to specify.

Midas and red devil are not the same fish. Hoga could be a option

Again, i had no idea how many more fish would be available if I sold the danios, I have wanted an amphilophus sp. for SO LONG. Pretty much since I first got a fish tank. How long would the danios last with the majority of amphilophus species? By that I mean at what cichlid size would the danios have to go.

If they are normal danios take them out before even putting in the cichlid. If they are giant danios just watch them and when the cichlid starts eyeing them to much move them

They are giant danios. then the shark should be ok? He spends most of his day hovering at driftwood for food and hiding in his little cave in the driftwood.

I'd remove it just incase. The catfish should be fine but anything is at risk with a amph in a 75 .sad fact of keeping the more aggressive species. Its a trade off of variety for personality

I read the original post and did not read all five pages of the thread but to answer the original question. Get a Chocolate cichlid (Hypselecara temporalis) in place of the severum. I'm a big fan of Firemouths either. I have a group of four with a shcool of about 20 Serpae tetras for over a year now and they never bothered any of them. They also come up to the glass and beg for food and are very personable fish.

Does anyone know of any suppliers that I could even get a hoga from?

+1 tried to house a Red Devil with a catfish with no success, a crayfish with no success, and a variety of other fish with no success. Plants also seemed off limits for him. I've seen them housed with other fish, but use caution.
