i just got one today and he looks just like that one in the pic but no pearls.... just the black line. plus he's only 1"

Looks like it's heavy on the vieja, just because it doesn't look like a "conventional" fh doesn't mean that it isn't one, still an fh cross.

So in your opinion any vieja crossed with a fh is a fh, lol I disagree.....these vieja looking fish are gorgeous hybrids but they are not kamfa, maybe backbreeding them to the original th parent might result in kamfa,

Technically if you cross the 2 you get an f1 fh (whether it's kamfa or kml will again depend on what fish was used to cross with vieja, ie fh or bp), I agree it looks nothing like the flowerhorns everyones used to and it would take a few gens of line breeding to get the "common" fh look.

What in your eyes would constitute an f1? Breeding the offspring back to the parent or breeding the offspring of that back to the first gen hybrid parent?

Unless the fish has Trimac in it I don't believe it could considered Flowerhorn but having Trimac doesn't automatically constitute Flowerhorn. Regardless fish like Rose Queen, Red Monkey, and so on aren't Flowerhorn. F1 Flowerhorn would be Trimac x ????? regardless.
