Don't think f1 fh exists, these are hybrids , to have an f 1 the parents must be f 0, there are no wild flowerhorn. You cannot grade an fh with these termonologies. Flowerhorn can only be a flowerhorn if they display the desired traits, having fh in the bloodline or even full fh parents doesn't necessarily produce a flowerhorn, this is why the majority are culled, flowerhorn is a standard and a standard has its own grading system

That being said all of the hybrids posted on this thread are attractive and beautiful specimen

I've had my Petsmart "Red Texas" since December. I say definitely a flowerhorn. What do you think? I'm sorry for the low quality of the picture and yes the glass is dirty. My wife has banished my tanks to our sun room....

Lol you know what Kamfa is?

the way i see it those types of flowerhorns were found under specific linebreeding and are the original shapes and characteristics of what the flowerhorn should look like there are however different types of flowerhorn and to tell me those fish came from kamfah lines is a crock of bull no offense to the fish keeper spekl and what your telling me is flowerhorn breeders in Malaysia are more indecisive than the people that discovered early dinosaur fossils and they can't seem to make up their mind about what shape goes with what name but you know what whatever to each his own believe what you want but with out an original you can't base your knowledge off a bean counter trying to make a new old so yeah no further comment

LOL. What the hell are you guys talking about. You cannot use the concept of wild specimen generation and play along side by side with hybrids. In the world of hybridization, it is played throughout a family tree. Not in a concept of their captivity.

I'm going to set a quick and short example of understanding the concept of hybrids breeding in terms of generation usage.
ZZ x BP = F1
ZZ x F1 = F2
F2 x KML = F1(the reason is it is now out of its linage)

The OP's fish is a Kamfa. My question for you is, do you even know what and what makes a Kamfa besides the standard ZZ x BP? And why is it a Kamfa? LOL.
:grinno:

What and what still does not = a exepted standard. you cant call all hybrids with simular lineage the same thing, there is a reason these fish are line bred, that's why so many baby sub standard fh become food for other fh that do meet the exepted standard I'm sitting on 3 fh clutches almost 1000 fry, I wouldn't call all when grown what there genetics make them unless they display the accepted desireable traits. Sadly overbreeding and under culling will negetivly impact the future of the mighty Flowerhorn.
