Ok I listened to a few songs and here’s my opinion

1) I disagree with your statement about your generation listing to this I sincerely think it’s just you listening to it ?
2) it’s terrible the lyrical content is just not there
3) the only thing good I hear in it is it’s bass
I’d bet with a good subwoofer in a 98 Honda Civic these songs hit hard and seem awesome
I’m 33 for reference from southern Cali

This new album by him is not very popular. I do actually like some of playboi cartis songs. I would suggest listening to "shoota" by him, his most popular song and my favorite.

To be honest the other song was better. It seemed more original. This one reminded me too much of a song my wife is currently obsessed with called Always in a mood or something. Im sick of hearing it, the dodgy commercial radio stations play it constantly and my wife will put it on youtube the moment my back is turned. I actually got angry about it the other night and snatched the remote from her and turned it off. I dont need to hear such a crap song 15 times a day.

53 year old here reporting back. You're right, it did blow my mind....and almost my ear drums too! I forgot to turn the volume down on my tablet after listening to football on my headphones earlier, lol.

Truth? Utter rubbish, not for me. Though I can sort of understand why that type of music would attract you young uncultured types.

Now i've listened to your earache, you listen to a tune for me. It's called "the first picture of you" by a band called "the lotus eaters". If you compare yours with mine, you'll see that we are light years apart on music tastes.

And to be honest, I think I win.

I guess this proves the music from your teenage years is what you will always enjoy. I would advise both of you not to try to convince each other of whos taste is best as I dont think I have ever heard 2 songs that are so different.
I can only imagine what KATALEKEEPER KATALEKEEPER will have to endure when hes around our age and younger dudes are saying "check out this new song" and using playboi cardi as an example of music from the good old days..
For me the early to mid 90s will always be my favourite era of music as I was mid teens to early 20s in age back then.

oh no he gets 14,000,000 monthly listeners on Spotify alone. That doesn't account for apple music or youtube

I'm not quite 30 yet but close enough (28) and I've never heard of a playboi carti, and I'm proud of that. It makes me sad every time I listen to what is popular with the kids nowadays, especially hip hop.
To be fair, I almost never listen to music by choice. I enjoy peace and quiet when I can get it.

Who is this playboi carti? Judging by the tone of the majority of responses here, I don't plan on looking him up or listening to his music.

Maybe someone should alert this playboi cardi character on twitter or something and let him know a bunch of older dudes are discussing the merits of his music on an aquarium forum.
Would be funny to see what his response would be........
