He's talking about likeaboss, and another stupid post he was the creator of.

Thank heaven for 0 chlorine and chloramine (we probably have the best tap water out there..), sadly we do have dangerous levels of uranium, radian, and other harmful stuff...

It might be good for your fish, but I would be a bit nervous about drinking tap water that wasn't treated with Chlorine or Chloramine. That's how they roll in Mexico and we all know what happens when you drink Mexican tap. :irked:

Your tap water has to be treated with something to make sure there's no bacteria etc.

John, you need to set up a whole house water filtration system. I bought a system for my new house from Pelican for less than $1,000 that my handy man put in for $100. I haven't used chemicals for a year and water changes are a snap...you'll save a lot of $$ not buying Prime anymore.

The water will be safer for your fish and more importantly, better for you and your family.

You boil the water.

I thought about it for the past year or two, even started a thread asking for input, but didn't get much feedback. I have a friend, who has whole house filtration system, and it works wonder for him, too. However, if he did a large scale water change, or do it more often, like twice a week, some of his fish lost slime coat and die, so he still uses API stress coat now and then. I want to put one, but keep changing my mind, since I couldn't make up my mind on whether I'm going to buy another house... I need to put my foot down on this one...

I am doing big weekly water changes and the fish are fine. I can only drain 2/3 of the water in the gatf tank because if I go lower, the fish thrashes around and rips it's fins. But on my other tanks the water is down to the last few inches and I've never seen the fish lose their slime coat. That's including really small armatus, atlantic tarpon, nile perch, south american cats and other south american bottom fish.

That sounds great! I'll look into Pelican. Thanks Terry.

Damn! Sorry for the loss! I usually trickle the water in very slowly when I do a change. I never have had to add any H2O conditioner when doing it that way. I do about 20% changes too.

Hey at least you didn't lose 600 Blue Mahseer like i did! =(
