cant wait cant wait cant wait. i wish he was coming today, but im getting my qt tank ready, so didnt wanna risk it not being ready! my dad's off tomorrow, when he sees another fish coming he's gonna be like "oh my god not again...how many fish are u gonna get? don't you need some summer clothes instead?!" i will put some pics up when i get him.
My BGK just arrived! I was realllllllly worried coz he came in a really heavy big box and when I opened it, the newspaper was wet inside so i was nearly gonna have a panic attack! I was thinking..what it the bag leaked and he's dead? but when I pulled newspaper out etc I realised that they had packed him up really well, and he was swimming up and down the bag like crazy lol. he looked really good, but little! A few of the bags full of warm water had leaked so I just acclimatised him for ten minutes or so then put him in the q tank which is sooo dark with no light and black sand with a big black cave so he must love it there right now lol. I'm going to keep him in there for a month maybe to fatten him up before putting him in a main tank. hopefully things will work out!! im so happy, he's so handsome! will take pics in two days or something.
yes, im happy about this one!He is swimming in and out of his cave now, I put pieces of mussel in there but he hasn't eaten any yet, i think he will eat it tonight probably when lights are out well and truly. basically this is my plan: one day bloodworms, the other mussels, and another prawns. so he will get one of these once a day. dont want to feed him too much because i will be on holiday on the 6thjune for three weeks with only my mum to feed him so i dont want to overdo it now, i will feed him up 2 times or three times a day when i get back so i know i can cope well with the water changes, i know that they require very good water quality. i was gonna ask another ques: do they have teeth? the food i put in is a little big, but i was hoping he could bit bits off. Also, has anyone ever tried feeding their BGK apple snails? I was thinking this would be fun for him, if he had one once a week.
they do have teeth,but its best if you can chop it up into bite size pieces while its so small,when mine was little i use to feed him/her bloodworms,mysis,whiteworms,blackworms and small earthworms..then after a a few months i got him/her on hikari carnivore pellets,peas, prawns....he/she will eat anything now
