hmm i have frozen bloodworms, will try and drop some of that in the tank tomorrow will see if he eats it! Hopefully when I wake up tomorrow morning the mussel will be gone.I would like to get him an apple snail to eat (once I saw these BGK nipping at an apple snail in this lfs, they had cracked the shell and everything!!!) thats why i thought maybe when he is not so shy then i can give him one to play around with, but then will need to be careful coz maybe it would introduce parasites to the tank and i don't want that.

Yeah I started out with like 8 snails, and after quarentining them, tossed them in with the Bichirs and they have been reproducing ever since. Both the Bchirs and the BGK love them. Every morning I wake up and see that there are empty snails in the tank. 
Any kind of worms, ghost shrimp, feeder guppies.
But its much better if you train him to eat pellets first. (Meaty foods are sometimes expensive ya know)

Been trying to get a pic of him but he's still shy, he loves his cave, but the only way I saw him yesterday was when I crawled out of my bed and pretended to be asleep, then I saw him come out of the cave, swimming up and down and sometimes upside down too. I think I can get a pic of him by the end of the week hopefully, but he doesn't seem to want to come out yet.
