oh yeah he does have a white band on his tail!! i'm moving him to my 400L community tank in a couple of weeks, hopefully will be able to get a nice pic coz the juwel tank has lights in it lol.but it has black sand, i know he will blend into it!

some BGK's have a white stripe from their heads down near to their tail
 
I've had mine about eight months now and it still spends most of the time hiding when lights are on. Eats anything. Started with bloodworms and now eats sinking pellets and chunks of fresh shrimp and fish.
 
that's such a beautiful knife!!! hope mine will come out like that and play around in the tank. thanks for the pic guys, gives me hope for mine lol.
 
I had my trained to eat from my hand a while back but then I left for school for a few months. I was just happy my parents kept them alive during that time, but now the ghost knife won't eat from my hand....need to start trying it all over again.
 
i'm trying to feed mine lightly because i have to go on a few holidays to mauritius, india, rome and france and i will be away for at least a month. currently i am trying to "train" my mum on how to feed the fish in my room, she looks after our bala shark in the kitchen, but she overfeeds him and he is an absolute monster! but i know i won't be ableto do a water change for at least three weeks when i go away first so i am trying to get her to feed lightly whilst i am away.i put in a piece of prawn in his tank today, and he loved it! he came swimming out and nipped it a few times, then started doing a weird swim, then eating a few bits, swimming here and there, but now i'm at my desk he's gone back into his cave with his head popping out!
 
hey guys i put a piece of prawn in the tank and bit by bit, my BGK is nibbling on it. how long can i leave it in there before the water turns bad? i do my weekly water change on thursday, but i don't know if i can leave the prawn in there for that long or just take it out now.
