wal mart just care about selling them and dont care about the lives of the fish. and almost every time i go into petsmart theres always tons of dead fish. so i buy fish from petsmart to save them.

yes, i was reading this thread about how they were selling angel fish in cups!!! thats so unbelievable, i mean you would understand if they did it to a betta bcoz its a common mistake ppl make in crappy shops, but not with angel fish! i mean its such a waste of beautiful fish and life, most importantly.
guys, i have had "Jet li" since thursday now, and he does not want to come out of his cave when i look at him. is this normal? also, i put a cube of frozen bloodworms in there, but he only ate a few. i thought BGK were supposed to be in love with bloodworms?i'm getting worried about him, at night he comes out, but its so dark i can't see him properly. also, i don't have a light in my qt tank or a hood, so i can't see him properly unless its daylight but then he just stays in the cave. i don't want to take his cave out, it will get him stressed. what should i do? just be patient and wait? i was thinking at least he ate a couple of bloodworms. i took out the remaining worms in the tank that he left, but left around 10 worms on the gravel. is this ok?if he hasn't eaten them by tomorrow morning will take them out as well.
He /she probably needs a bit of time to come round after shipping and being in a new home,if he/she is eating a few its better than nothing,as the BGK gets older you will probably see it even less,i get to see mine every 2 days for about 30 seconds, it eats and goes back to its lair,if you want to see yours more either prop some wood or a rock against the front of your tank,you will be able to see it all the time then,or get some subdued lighting....hope my rant helps 
think its quite normal for them to be quite reclusive and its only been a few days i wouldnt worry too much
My BGK only really after 6 months of having him has started emerging during the day... there's really nothing to worry about... he grows fast but will only eat blood worms which is annoying but then again I didn't try and feed him anything else to begin with... he is doing fine on those though ... He has started coming out with the lights on now and eats the blood worms along with all the other fish (he has realise if he doesn't come out then he gets nothing to eat haha)....

Took mine a month to even eat in front of me. But still never really see him out and about, unless lights are out, and I'm sittting in front of tank, real still. If you move they will see you and bolt.

well today when i woke up, i noticed that he had eaten the few bloodworms that i had not taken out yesterday, about 5-6 bloodworms. today he's getting a slice of prawn. mine is 8 cm in length, he looks very young!! thing is, that white strip only goes from the tip of his mouth to the back of his head, it doesn't go all the way to half of his body or down to his tail. does this mean he's really young?the qt tank is dark that i have to get a really dim flashlight to check if he's been eating his food! I thought the darker it is for him the better. because its so dark in there, i always see him poke his head out of his cave during the day! i love him to bits already lol.
Not all BGK develop the white stripe down their backs,some are more pronounced than others,this may be regional variations or not..mines about 9-10 inches and still hasn't got the white stripe,just a little fine line on both ends,but not meeting in the middle
